Chhaygaon College was established on 6th September 1974 at Chhaygaon of Kamrup District, Assam, to promote higher education and install leadership quality among the human resources to accelerate the nation-building process. The college is situated on the bank of the ever-flowing Kalahi River, beside National Highway No. 17 at a distance of about 35 kilometres from the L.G.B. International Airport, approximately in a distance 40 kilometres from Gauhati University. The College stands on vast sprawling land, amidst lush greenery and shady trees. Chhaygaon is a place that can boost with excessive pride in its ethnic and rich cultural diversities and also claims of rich heritage to which 'Chandika Devalaya' and, Chanda Merghar stand as silent testimonials. Chhaygaon College has been a trusted name for 50 years and is a premier institution that provides a unique band of holistic education to nearly 4000 students .
