Chhaygaon College was established on 6th September 1974 at Chhaygaon of Kamrup District, Assam, to promote higher education and install leadership quality among the human resources to accelerate the nation-building process. The college is situated on the bank of the ever-flowing Kalahi River, beside National Highway No. 17 at a distance of about 35 kilometres from the L.G.B. International Airport, approximately in a distance 40 kilometres from Gauhati University. The College stands on vast sprawling land, amidst lush greenery and shady trees.
